As the wheeling wrestling team starts to finish up there season they had one last duel against the Rolling meadows mustang and the wildcats looking to play spoiler on the mustang senior night. The Wildcats would love beating the Mustangs a week before conference to go into conference with a chip on their shoulder. While the wildcats did not take the mat right away the under levels came out strong against the mustangs and getting a good amount of wins on their side and setting the tone good for the varsity team to go out there and compete.

As the jv and freshman both get a win as a team in the dual showed that the wildcats under levels set the tone right for the wheeling varsity team and come up big when the time is needed to step up in the dual and the future looks bright for wheeling wrestling with these under level wrestlers.

As the varsity team takes the mat they get a big win right off the bat with freshmen 106 pounder David Perez getting a pin against the Mustangs 106 pounder. While the duel was close two wrestlers stepped up when the team was needed while Erik Giron pins his opponent with 30 seconds left in the match to put a big six points on the board for the wildcats. And with the duel all tied up it was all depending on the 220 match to decide the duel and sophomore Marco Mercado also stepped up big for the wildcats putting up another six points on the board and sealing the win for the wildcats and going on to win the duel. And look to build off going into the conference tournament next week.
