Wildcats Second Place Finish

The Wheeling wildcats girls volleyball team went up to round lake high school Saturday morning. The girl’s varsity team went 4-1 this Saturday. The girls beat Round lake, Waukegan, Morengo, and Elk grove, but came short to a very talented Johnsburg team. Samantha Springer believes the reason why they were able to play so well was that they “ communicated well throughout the day and put our best effort forward. And being able to keep good stamina throughout the day since we didn’t get any breaks.”
Ashley Monaco believes that Coach Jason Kopkowski has a big role in the team’s success on Saturday. “ he kept us motivated and accountable for our ‘attitude and effort’, as well as he motivated us the whole game to better each ball we put over
the net.” Coach Jason Kopkowski has been a varsity head coach for not only the girl but the boys too. He’s brought a lot of success to the program ever since he started coaching. He’s produced many top athletes who ended up playing at the top level. The Girl’s volleyball team has a couple of big games coming up. September 20 against Rolling Meadows, September 22 @Elk Grove, September 26 @Mundeline, September 27 against Buffalo grove, And September 29 vs hersey.
