The information we already know about the book is that the main character of this book will be Haymitch Abernathy the future victor of the Games and mentor to the original main characters Katniss and Peeta. These games are a quarter quell, and every 25 or 1 quarter there is a special change for the games. This year’s change is that they will reap doubled the amount of tributes from 24 to 48. Haymitch was reaped as one of the 2 boys. One of the 2 girls was Maysilee Donner, Haymitch’s future ally and Katniss’s mothers best friend. With Haymitch and one district 1 female left Haymitch comes out as lone victor of the 50th annual Hunger Games. Most of this knowledge comes from the 2nd book in the original trilogy Catching Fire where Katniss and Peeta watch Haymitch’s games together, and see just how tragic his life was. He lost his mother, brother, and girlfriend due to a horrendous murder carried out by the Capital. He watched many people be murdered while he was in the games. In his later years he turned to alcohol to bring him out of his tragedy that he sees as his life. Being the only surviving victor of District 12 he had to watch the tributes year after year die in the fight of the Games.
